Sleep sounds without better-sleep promises

Low drones for rest

Sleep timer

Sleep sounds are backgrounds people choose for bedtime: soft rain, low drones, gentle noise, or other slow textures. They are not a single scientifically defined sound. This page opens love.fm in Sleep mode, with matching recordings and live sounds such as Brown Noise, Soft Rain, and Deep Hum. Choose the one you find least intrusive rather than looking for a guaranteed effect.

A steady background can cover some noises that disturb you. That practical masking effect is different from proving better sleep. The 2021 review summarized in our research notes examined thirty-eight articles and rated the evidence for continuous noise as a sleep aid very low quality. Results were mixed: some studies reported faster sleep onset, while others found more disrupted sleep. Small studies and self-reports limit what we can conclude.

Keep playback quiet and consider a short timer instead of leaving noise running all night. love.fm's timer fades the output before stopping it. Long-term safety of all-night noise is not established, especially for infants; this player is not a recommendation for infant sleep. If listening makes you more alert or uncomfortable, turn it off. Persistent sleep problems deserve appropriate advice, not a playlist promise. Our research page provides sources and explains why we make no brainwave or treatment claims.
