What it is
ASMR sounds are soft, close-up noises such as brushing, scratching, crinkling paper or turning pages. Some people feel a tingling, calming response to them. This page has no whispering or talking: just the sounds. love.fm includes recordings tagged #tingles and a live Tingles mix that blends short clips in your browser.
Who it's for
In studies, people who experience ASMR reported feeling calmer, and their heart rate dropped a little while they listened. Many people feel nothing, and some find these sounds irritating. If that's you, skip it. It is a preference, not a treatment, and there is no reason to keep listening to something that bothers you.
Headphones help
Many of these recordings, and the live Tingles mix, move between your left and right ears to feel close. That effect only works on headphones; on a speaker it sounds flatter. Keep the volume low, and use the sleep timer if you listen while settling down. Our research page has more on what the evidence does and does not show.
